H.E President William Samoei Ruto Awards Interim Authority to Kamagambo University

H.E President William Samoei Ruto has presided over the award of a Letter of Interim Authority to Kamagambo University at Kisumu State Lodge, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s journey towards full university recognition. The development is expected to expand access to higher education for students in Migori County and the wider Nyanza region, while creating new opportunities in education, research, innovation and skills development. Kamagambo has a long-standing history as an important centre of education in the region. Its transition into a university is expected to contribute to regional socio-economic development through the creation of employment opportunities, promotion of research and innovation, and development of a skilled workforce. The award of the Letter of Interim Authority also represents progress in meeting Kenya’s regulatory requirements for university education and opens a new chapter in Kamagambo’s institutional development.
